Friday 27th August: Mighty Yammer

Here is the Yammer in his new, regular Friday posting. Been way too busy for the last couple of days and work has slowed down appreciably because of it.

Still hoping to have the 'Rampage' preview ready for the end of next week.

Recieved the latest script for the future of sport: Deathsphere! Yeah baby!

Wednesday 25th August. MiniBolt work

I've decided to slow down on the Yammer, at the rate I was posting I would never be able to sustain keeping new episodes appearing.

Yammer will be a Friday only item from this week.

MiniBolt dug this out of his hard-drive yesterday, a piece I'd completely forgotten about. He did this when he was a tender 8 years old.

It's more than a little good in my opinion.

Monday 23rd August: Update on whats what.

As of today I have loaded the last episode of Whistler onto 2000adonline, I have toned and prepared the final episode for magazine format. I've received the second version of the back cover colours and it totally looks lush.

Been offered some more strip work for Solar wind, and a newspaper style strip for a member of the message board hive.

Work is continuing for the 'Rampage' piece, and I'm hoping to have a set of finished pencils by the end of the week.

Monday 23rd August: Archive pieces 2

This piece has some history to it. Waaay back in the late '80's I was trying to get involved with drawing comics (again) when I noticed an ad for a title called Angel dust funnies that was looking for contributors. Unfortunately the title only lasted for about 5 issues before going the way of all things, but it allowed me to actually do a couple of strips.

The main character was a hero named NATHAN SPEED, and for the next few years I was haunted by the world he lived in. Eventually the strip evolved into the TOP SNAZZ COMICS project (must get round to posting the covers for that) which ran for six whol mini comics of its own before I couldn't carry on.

This piece was for a collection I did of the early drafts of the Nathan Speed stories, which if anybody wants a copy of I'll put in the post gladly.

Monday 23rd August: Archive pieces 1

found this whilst going through an old folder of stuff. Still liked it, so here it is:

Wednesday 18th August: Mighty Yammer

This marks the beginning of a story that is still running. I haven't touched it for over four years but I'll try to get it finished.

Saturday 14th August. Mighty Yammer: 10

This is the last of the original Yammer tales I did, the next time it appeared it was with a different set-up.

Saturday 14th August. Mighty Yammer: Lunch

This is the first (and so far only) full-page appearance by the Yammer. One of my favourite episodes, despite some well dodgy drawing, this was originally an A4 centrespread.

As ever, let me know what you think.

Wdenesday 11th August 2004: Archive shot 3

This pic is also from the aborted Space opera, and features a character who escaped. Originally to be the security officer for the Starship ARES, he decided to try his luck as a Search destroy agent and adopted the name Whistler!

This is also the result of a particularly boring session at college, when I should have been studying the finer points of the changing layout of Cadbury world!

Mighty Yammer 4

Wdenesday 11th August 2004: Archive shot 2

This pic is something more unusual. He is a sixth generation genetic experiment. He is also a blood thirsty vampire that can read minds.

I still have his story all worked out and written down (somewhere) and I might get round to it if I can sort out the ending properly.

The characters name is DACRON.

Wdenesday 11th August 2004: Archive shot 1

Trawling through the Bolt archive looking for stuff that might be of interest.

As I find anything I'll put it up and try to write something interesting

First up is a character who was intended to be the lead in a space opera. All the characters would be anthropomorphical (I'm a big admirer of Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo) and the adventures would take place on a space ship travelling to fight in a distant war. I was hoping to be able to tell enough stories that by the time I got to the war you would care about the characters enough that when I killed them it would have real resonance; but I could never come up with enough stories to make it worth the beginning.

This character starts the series as a stowaway, and becomes integral to the plot (such as it was)

Tuesday 10th August: Yammertime! again!

Been a bit on the quiet side here today, Got my second page of the latest Whistler lettered (6 2) and sent the back cover off to be coloured.

Going to start on page 3 tonight after Tea, all things serve the beam.

Tuesday 10th August: Yammertime!

This is the first episode I have had to re-letter, but I have kept the original dialogue. I apologise to 'brummies' everywhere.

Mighty Yammer 1

More to follow....

The Mighty Yammer is here.

Way back in the early nineties I was asked to contribute to a local clubbing magazine. This strip was the rsult. Only the first 5 were used, and were all re-written by the editor of the mag.

I'm going to have to re-write some of these as I have lost the copies with the original text, and the lettering may need to be re-sized anyway.

let me know what you think:

1st posting

Howdy Folks, Bolt-01 here at the start of something new.

Over the next however long I'll be posting stuff here, mostly comic strip but I might also have some other stuff I need to keep on-line.
