I like those black splodgy bits in panel three - I've just been reading Mike Allred's X-Statix, so I'm kind of reminded of that (which itself harks back to something by Kirby/Steranko, I think?)
Hey! I'm just surprised that I didn't imagine that - now I know it's got a name too, which'll be useful for the script-writing! And I thought everyone would think I was mad...
Oh, and as to it being harder to draw than it looks - I can believe that, because essentially what you're drawing is a 2-D effect in what is supposed to represent a 3-D world.

ReplyDeleteThat'll be the Kirby Crackle! Something I remember from my youth which is harder to do than it looks. Kirby was such a good designer.
